The Macallan-Glenlivet "Horae Solaris" release by Moon Import is an extraordinary, legendary Independent Bottling (IB) that bridges the golden era of Italian whisky importing with one of the most collectible graphic series ever created.

Moon Import, founded in 1980 by the iconic Pepi Mongiardino, is world-renowned for releasing single casks featuring breathtaking, highly artistic labels. The "Horae Solaris" (Hours of the Sun) series, released in the late 1980s / early 1990s, is famous for using vibrant, classical illustrations inspired by historical sundials, astronomy, and ancient solar charts.

It opens with heavily rancio-forward and waxy characteristics—beeswax, furniture oil, dried apricots, and candied orange peel. It is completely clear of modern, aggressive wood tannins.

It lingers with notes of light baking spices, herbal tea, and a drying, elegant oak note that gently coats the throat.
