St. Magdalene originally founded in the mid-18th century and operating seamlessly on a historic site in the ancient royal burgh of Linlithgow, St. Magdalene produced a heavy, deeply oily, and grassy spirit that bucked the trend of light, triple-distilled Lowland malts.

It opens immediately with beeswax, paraffin candles, and damp library dust. As it breathes, it develops beautiful, classic old Lowland attributes: dried field grass, lemon oils, white clay, underripe yellow plums, and a fascinating, slightly industrial top note of flint and tool grease.
