Diageo releases an exclusive Distillers Edition once a year for its core Classic Malts distilleries. While the flagship Oban 14-Year-Old is matured entirely in traditional oak, the Distillers Edition undergoes a secondary maturation (finishing process) in rare, double-matured wine casks to create an entirely different flavor profile.

It opens with salty sea breezes and marine ozone, which are quickly layered over by crushed green grapes, bruised oranges, soft wood smoke, and an underlying wave of rich malt biscuit. It leaves a trailing sweetness reminiscent of Jamaican coffee and dark chocolate, before resolving into a dry, oaky, and pine-fresh finish.
