Lagavulin has issued standard 5cl sample bottles of its flagship 16-Year-Old for decades, the 2018 production year is a standout for miniature collectors because it saw a specific physical packaging transition, adapting the box artwork to match the modern typeface upgrades applied to the full-sized 70cl bottles.

It gives thick, heavy peat smoke mixed with medicinal iodine, seaweed, and sea salt. Beneath the smoke sits a beautiful, rich sweetness of dried dark fruits, vanilla, and old oak wood. It leaves a signature dry ash and peat residue on the palate.
