Moscatel is a sweet, highly aromatic Portuguese fortified wine made from Muscat grapes. When used for Scotch maturation, it acts similarly to a Pedro Ximénez (PX) cask but brings a brighter, more perfumed, floral, and distinct tropical stone-fruit character rather than just heavy, dark raisins.
