    Hand-selected by Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie, this expression is highly revered because it showcases a full, long-term maturation in a Claret Barrique (red wine cask from Bordeaux). Rather than using red wine for a quick finish, letting a classic, unpeated Speyside malt sleep in an active red wine cask for a quarter of a century is an incredibly rare and successful maturation feat.
    It opens with intense notes of blackcurrant jam, stewed plums, and red cherry compote. Beneath the dense fruit lies a refined backdrop of sandalwood, dark chocolate truffle, and old leather.
