While Gordon & MacPhail typically utilized their Connoisseurs Choice line for early Glenugie stocks (most notably the famous 1966 "Map Label" and "Old Brown Label" variants), a highly exclusive selection of this exact 1966 vintage was diverted into their ultra-premium Speymalt Special Reserve styling. It was custom-packaged specifically for the elite Italian distribution house Giuseppe Meregalli in Monza during the late 1980s.

It opens with classic old grain indicators—beeswax candles, old furniture varnish, and a heavy dusting of library books. As it expands, it releases a massive wave of herbal and tropical complexities: dried orange peels, passion fruit oil, herbal black tea, and fresh mint leaves.
