Malt Master John Ramsay selected a batch of 1992 casks that had reached standard commercial maturity, bottling them as the Glenrothes 1992 First Edition. The taste markers for that initial release were tightly bound to dark fruits, black plums, and heavy licorice. However, he noted that the liquid had a more robust structural layout that would heavily benefit from a prolonged sleep.

Exactly 10 years later in late 2014, Gordon Motion determined that the extended maturation loop was complete. He dumped the remaining stock to create this highly anticipated Second Edition.

It opens with an immediate bouquet of cooked citrus fruits, lemon tarts, and fresh vanilla bean pods. As it sits and opens up in the glass, a highly unique, exotic top note of ripe lychee, white peaches, and fresh honeyed malt drifts out of the glass.
