    The Highland Park 1973 Single Cask 30 Year Old (Cask #11207) released for the Japanese market is a legendary, ultra-premium relic.
    Before Highland Park moved to its stylized "Viking" or "embossed" glass, they released high-end single casks in a highly coveted, retro dumpy clear glass bottle style. This series featured minimalist, elegant typography meant to evoke old-world premium luxury. Because this was custom-selected for the discerning Japanese market in the mid-2000s, it represents some of the most meticulously sourced old-school distillate in the distillery's modern history.
    It opens with an unmistakable "old bottle" character—waxed paper, honeyed chamomile tea, and white chocolate. As it breathes, it reveals dried apricots, lemon oil, faint tropical fruits (passionfruit, mango), and a deeply embedded, subtle, aromatic floor-malted heathery peat smoke.
    It lingers on soft, drying oak spices, citrus peel, and a final, wispy trail of sweet, earthy Orkney peat ash.
