The 2017 edition is highly prized because it marks the definitive return to natural cask strength for the 30-year-old expression, after Diageo briefly bottled the 2011 through 2015 batches at a standard, reduced 45.8% ABV.

It gives driftwood smoke, sea salt crust, and ozone are balanced by rich, creamy vanilla pods, crisp green apples, and a subtle hint of white chocolate. It leaves a lingering, beautifully dry trail of maritime salt and warming chili-pepper spice.
