When Arran was founded in 1995, it helped revive the lost legacy of legal distillation on the island. Because the distillery had to wait patiently for its warehouse stocks to mature, the release of this Inaugural 21-Year-Old in 2018 was celebrated worldwide as the distillery's formal entry into the elite bracket of highly aged Scotch whisky.

It opens with an initial hit of warm ginger cookies, rich dark chocolate, and toasted almonds. As it rests in the glass, a beautiful wave of caramelized toffee apples, orange zest, dried apricots, and sweet baking spices (cinnamon and nutmeg) begins to drift forward. It leaves a trailing signature of roasted hazelnuts, drying European wood tannins, and lingering clove oil.
