Lochside was highly unique because it was designed as a dual-functioning plant, housing a towering continuous grain column still alongside traditional copper pot stills. This layout allowed them to produce malt, grain, and an unusual hybrid known as a "single blend" (blending the malt and grain together at birth in the same cask) all under one roof.

It opens with an immense wave of old-school beeswax, furniture polish, and antique library dust. It then transforms into a tropical paradise, throwing out intense aromas of overripe mangoes, passion fruit oil, dried apricots, gooseberries, and a surprising, faint hint of industrial soot and maritime freshness.
