The Glenfiddich 1979 Moon Import "The Sails in the Wind" is a highly sought-after, legendary independent bottling (IB). Produced by the legendary Italian importer and bottler Moon Import (founded by Pepi Mongiardino), this release is highly prized because independent bottlings of Glenfiddich are incredibly rare due to the distillery's strict policy against selling casks to third parties.

It opens with rich poached pears, golden apples, honeyed malt, vanilla paste, and soft baking spices, balanced by an underlying dunnage-warehouse earthiness.

Very creamy and oily on the palate at 46%. It brings dense layers of orchard fruits, candied orange peel, beeswax, light grassy elements, and toasted almond flakes.

Medium-to-long, warming, and clean. It fades gracefully into lingering notes of white pepper, subtle wood tannins, and soft fruit sugars.
