ARDBEG - SINGLE MALT - OB-"DARK COVE" COMMITTEE RELEASE in 2016

Marketed at the time as "the darkest Ardbeg ever," its core was built by marrying classic ex-bourbon matured Ardbeg with a portion matured in mysterious, heavily seasoned "dark sherry casks" (highly suspected to be a combination of rich Oloroso and sticky Pedro Ximénez).

The peat smoke tapers into dry wood ash, old leather, and tar. A final, beautiful resurgence of spicy chilli-chocolate, bitter mocha, and sea salt flakes lingers on the back of the throat.
