This release falls under what was originally called the "Original Cask" series (often interchangeable with their vintage "Cask Strength / Natural High Strength" range), which was designed to showcase whiskies exactly as they were drawn from the barrel—un-chillfiltered, completely undiluted, and naturally colored.

It opens with rich, oxidized notes of orange rind marmalade, old leather jackets, dried resins, and cedar oil. This is backed by a heavy, damp earthiness—think soot-encrusted lanterns, wet tobacco, and damp mulch.
