TORMORE - SINGLE MALT - OB - "LONG JOHN DISTILLERIES" 12YO

Tormore is highly unique in Scotland. It was constructed between 1958 and 1960, making it one of the very first brand-new distilleries built in the 20th century. Long John Distilleries hired the famous architect Sir Albert Richardson to design it. He created a stunning, palatial granite complex complete with a copper roof, a musical clock that plays bells every quarter hour.

It opens with beeswax, damp cardboard, and warm malted barley. As it sits in the glass, a highly elegant profile of dried field grass, lemon oils, tinned peaches in heavy syrup, and old dunnage warehouse dust develops.
