While modern Miltonduff is primarily tucked away to serve as the signature sweet, malty heart of the Ballantine’s blended Scotch empire, this independent release captures a time when the distillery's standalone distillate was allowed to fully flex its muscles.

The Horae Solaris (Latin for "Hours of the Sun") series is dedicated to ancient sundials, astronomy, and classical timekeeping. The label features intricate, reproduction artwork of historical astronomical tools and sundial faces, beautifully framed in Moon Import's signature elegant typography.

It opens with the aroma of a damp dunnage warehouse, hessian sacks, and old library leather. This unfolds into dark fruits—prunes, dried figs, and a touch of balsamic glaze -layered over a classic waxiness, roasted almonds, and a faint hint of dark cocoa powder.
