Teaninich is famously known within the industry as a "workhorse" distillery for Diageo. Almost its entire massive output is funneled directly into major blends like Johnnie Walker Red and Black Label. Because official single malt releases from Teaninich are virtually non-existent (outside of a basic 10-year-old Flora & Fauna bottling), this 1968 vintage independently preserved by Gordon & MacPhail is a prized gem for serious collectors tracking historic, unblended Highland malts.

It opens with aromas of dried orchard fruits (green apples, pears), shifting into chamomile tea, fresh-cut grass, and a heavy undertone of antique beeswax and powdered malt. It leaves a lingering trail of waxy apple skins, toasted oak, and a faint, warming ginger spice.
