MILTONDUFF (PLUSCARDEN VALLEY) - SINGLE MALT - IB - SESTANTE "RARE HIGHLAND MALT"

Released in the mid-1980s by the pioneering selector Ernesto Mainardi (founder of Sestante, which later became Silver Seal), this release is highly collectible for two fascinating reasons: the historical moniker Sestante used to bypass strict distillery regulations, and the presence of two distinct strength variations.

It opens with an unmistakable old-school waxiness, paraffin, and damp burlap dunnage sacks. This heavy texture is beautifully brightened by underripe green apples, juicy nectarines, yellow peaches, and a striking note of crushed spearmint.
